FACTS ABOUT FADING
WHAT CAUSES FADING?
The Ultra Violet Light that is in a direct form in sunlight causes the majority of fading. Other factors also contribute such as excessive or prolonged periods of heat and excessive visible light. A simple break up of these factors is detailed below.
HOW CAN FILM HELP?
All window films help to reduce the effects of fading however the key to long term Ultra Violet reduction is in the adhesive used to laminate the film to the glass. The reason for this is that the polyester used in the manufacture of the film is not UV Stable.
Film manufacturers must make the glue a UV filter in order to make their products last and not deteriorate. A simple test of the quality of the UV filter is how long the manufacturer believes their film will last, as that is usually the expected life of the glue.
