WHY DO I NEED IT?
3M Scotchshield Security Films work.
In installations where security is paramount, sometimes film alone is not enough. The reason for this is that the only weak point on a window with security film installed, is where the film meets the frame. If this area is attacked it will be the first to fail.
It appears to some that the film has not worked, however this is not the case. This window would have withstood significant impact before it failed, but now there is more that we can do.
The answer is the Sunscreen Ultraflex Sealant System
WHAT IS THE SUNSCREEN ULTRAFLEX SEALANT SYSTEM?
The Sunscreen Ultraflex Sealant System is a combination of two excellent products.
3M Scotchshield Security film And Sunscreen Ultraflex Adhesive
3M Scotchshield
3M spent 7 years developing their wide range of patented security films and came up with thin micro layered film. This film can have up to 39 layers in a cross directional weave, invisible to the naked eye.
3M Scotchshield’s unique method of manufacture has proven to be 130 times more resistant to tearing than similar films. Also, in an Impact Test Comparison with other films, of the same thickness, competitive films can only withstand 150 lbs of impact, whilst 3M Scotchshield can be impacted at 400 Ibs.
Sunscreen Ultraflex Adhesive
This recently developed Adhesive ensures a strong bond between the film and the window frame, and will give years of dependable service. The adhesive will replace the window gasket and looks as good at the gasket it replaces.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Sunscreen Ultraflex Sealant System is a very strong flexible system designed specifically to overcome the problem of the glass being removed from the frame in the event of crime or vandalism.
A specially formulated adhesive is applied to the film, glass and frame. This amazing adhesive will then hold the glass and film into the frame, even if the glass is broken, and even if extra force is applied to the broken glass and film by kicking, pushing or pulling.
3M Scotchshield Security film and the Sunscreen Ultraflex Sealant System is the latest, most effective security system available for glass, making it even more difficult for homes and offices to be entered illegally through glass panes.
IMPORTANT POINT
While this system is amazingly strong it should be noted that the Sunscreen Ultraflex System does not make the glass pane impenetrable. However it does make the glass panel amazingly strong and will deter and delay intruders.
INSTALLATION
A frequently asked question is “Does the glass have to be removed?” Sunscreen Ultraflex can be easily installed by one of our trained and qualified applicators, without having to remove the glass.

This system is designed to anchor the film to the frame if the glass is broken. Our system can only ever be as strong as the frame it is fixed to. If the framing system is questionable our Sales representative or Installer will advise you.
